City of Edmonton Transit Substation Wrap

The Davies Station is a new transit centre in South East Edmonton for the brand new ETS South Line LRT route. Along with new construction and high-tech transit lines, come high-tech substations – these aren’t always very pleasing to look at and can often be large and cumbersome.

The City of Edmonton and the Edmonton Radial Rail Society sought out a design that showcased all of the historical rail cars still in operation around Edmonton today.

Using Photoshop to trim the cars out, duplicating and recomposing clouds for the appearance of a fully covered “sky” viewed from above, and some gradients from Illustrator, I was able to “age” the images with a consistent sepia-like effect as it wrapped around the substation structure.
